Magnetic access panel – do they really stay closed?
Thinking about a magnetic access panel instead of one with screws or clips. Do the magnets actually hold strong over time or do they weaken?

Good magnets make a huge difference. The weak ones on budget panels pop open after a while, especially if kids slam doors nearby. I got one with strong neodymium-style magnets and it’s been rock solid for almost two years – no accidental openings, closes with a satisfying click: https://www.amazon.com/Access-Panel-Drywall-Plumbing-Durable/dp/B085617TBL?tag=contractorhub-20 The frame is sturdy too so it doesn’t flex. Just make sure the drywall cut is clean so it sits flush. Way more convenient than screw-on types.
